做表语的副词只能用在（变位的）系动词be之后

The wolf is abroad.（主语补语）
狼在国外.

宾语补语

副词的形式

一、副词 = 形容词 + -ly，意思基本相同（常见规律）

形容词	副词	中文意思
possible	possibly	可能的 → 可能地
quick	quickly	快的 → 快速地
careful	carefully	小心的 → 小心地

规律：大多数副词由形容词加 -ly 构成，意义一致，表示方式、程度、频率等。

二、副词 = 形容词 + -ly，但意义发生变化（意义不同）

pretty	pretty	形容词：漂亮的副词：相当、颇为（表示程度）
large	largely	形容词：大的副词：主要地、大部分地
hard	hardly	形容词：努力的、艰难的副词：几乎不（完全不同）
late	lately	形容词：迟的副词：最近（时间）

举例：

This is a pretty smart rabbit.
这是只相当聪明的兔子。（pretty 是副词）
This is a fairly pretty wolf.
这是一只相当漂亮的狼。（fairly 是副词，修饰 pretty）

三、形容词和副词拼写相同，词性不同，意义一致或近似

副词的种类

一般位于句尾；表强调时也可位于句首

时间副词

The rabbit ate some carrots yesterday.

频率副词

大多位于行为动词之前,be动词/助动词/情态动词之后

The rabbit usually eats carrots.
这兔子经常吃胡萝卜
The rabbit eats carrots three times a day.
